Toyota Sienna Seat Belt Safety

Toyota Sienna Features

The Toyota Sienna key can be used for the ignition and all locks.
Your Toyota Sienna has a Toyota Sienna theft-deterrent system. The
key has a transponder in the key head that is electronically coded to match a decoder in your Toyota Sienna that allows the key to start the Toyota Sienna . If a replacement key or any additional key is needed, you must
purchase it from your Toyota Sienna dealer/retailer.

Toyota Sienna Power Door Locks
You can use the Remote Keyless Entry (If your Toyota Sienna has one) transmitter to lock and unlock the doors from inside or outside the Toyota Sienna

Toyota Sienna Unlocked doors can be dangerous.
Passengers, especially children, can easily open the doors and fall out of a moving Toyota Sienna When a door is locked, the handle will not open it. You increase the chance of being thrown out of the Toyota Sienna in a crash if the doors are not locked. So, wear safety
belts properly and lock the doors whenever you drive.
Young children who get into unlocked Toyota Sienna may be unable to get out. A child can be
overcome by extreme heat and can suffer permanent injuries or even death from heat stroke. Always lock your Toyota Sienna whenever you leave it.
Outsiders can easily enter through an unlocked door when you slow down or stop your Toyota Sienna . Locking your doors can help prevent this from happening. To lock and unlock the Toyota Sienna manually: • From inside the Toyota Sienna , pull up or down on the manual door lock knob located on the windowsill.
From the outside the Toyota Sienna , turn the key toward the front or rear of the Toyota Sienna to unlock or lock
the door.

Toyota Sienna Exhaust gases may enter the Toyota Sienna if it is driven with the liftgate, trunk/hatch open, or with any objects that pass through the seal between the body and the trunk/hatch or liftgate. Engine exhaust contains Carbon Monoxide (CO) which cannot be seen or smelled. It can cause unconsciousness and even death.

If the Toyota Sienna must be driven with the liftgate, or trunk/hatch open:
Close all of the windows
Fully open the air outlets on or under the instrument panel
Adjust the Climate Control system to a setting that brings in only outside air and set the fan speed to the highest setting.
If the Toyota Sienna is equipped with a power liftgate, disable the power liftgate function.

Toyota Sienna CAUTION:
Leaving children, helpless adults, or pets in a Toyota Sienna with the windows closed is dangerous. They can be overcome by the extreme heat and suffer permanent injuries or even death from heat stroke. Never leave a child, a helpless adult, or a pet alone in a Toyota Sienna , especially with the windows
closed in warm or hot weather.

Leaving children in a Toyota Sienna with the keys is dangerous for many reasons, children or others could be badly injured or even killed. They could operate the power windows or other controls or even make the Toyota Sienna move. The windows will function and they could be seriously injured or killed if caught in the path of a closing window. Do not leave keys in a Toyota Sienna with children. When there are children in the rear seat use the window lockout button to prevent unintentional operation of the windows.

Toyota Sienna WARNING!
For personal security and safety in the event of an accident, lock the Toyota Sienna doors as you drive as well as when you park and leave the Toyota Sienna .
When leaving the Toyota Sienna always remove the key and from the ignition lock, and lock your Toyota Sienna . Do not leave unattended children in the Toyota Sienna , or with access to an unlocked Toyota Sienna . Unsupervised
use of Toyota Sienna equipment may cause severe personal injuries and death.

Toyota Sienna Wind Buffeting
Wind buffeting can be described as the perception of pressure on the ears or a helicopter-type sound in the ears. Your Toyota Sienna may exhibit wind buffeting with the windows down, or the sunroof (if equipped) in certain open or partially open positions. This is a normal occurrence and can be minimized. If the buffeting occurs with the rear windows open, open the front and rear windows together to minimize the buffeting. If the buffeting occurs with the sunroof open, adjust the sunroof opening to
minimize the buffeting.

Toyota Sienna Lap/Shoulder Belts
All seats in your Toyota Sienna are equipped with Lap/ Shoulder Belts. The belt webbing in the retractor is designed to lock during very sudden stops or collisions. This feature allows the shoulder part of the belt to move freely with you under normal conditions. But in a collision, the belt will lock and reduce the risk of your striking the inside of the Toyota Sienna or being thrown out.

Buckle up in your Toyota Sienna even though you are an excellent driver, even on short trips. Someone on the road may be a poor driver and cause a collision that includes you. This can happen far away from home or on your own street. Research has shown that seat belts save lives, and they can reduce the seriousness of injuries in a collision. Some of the worst injuries happen when people are thrown from the vehicle. Seat belts reduce the possibility of ejection and the risk of injury caused by striking the insid of the Toyota Sienna . Everyone in a Toyota Sienna should be belted at all times.

Keep Driving your Toyota Sienna !
